Overview

From 2001 to 2013, the equipment assets of the State Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis and Preparative Chemistry have grown considerably and now reach a value of 136.5 million RMB. Between 2009 and 2013, newly purchased large-scale equipment is valued 44.9 million RMB, accounting for 33% of total equipment value. The major large-scale equipment and instruments average an operating time of 2800 hours a year, efficiency rate being 98%. Other equipment and instruments average an operating time of 1600 hours a year. The adequate equipment operating time ensures the smooth progress of research and teaching work at the lab. All the equipment and instruments are open for outside use. The time for open use accounts for 30% of total operating time. The main users of the equipment include researchers with open projects, domestic and international visiting scholars, and researchers in collaboration with the lab. Since 2012, the lab has built an intelligent network management system platform. It has also developed databases and resources for open access. For example, the lab has established the database for aluminum phosphate synthesis reaction and the database for aluminum phosphate structures. Now these two databases have been linked to the database website of the International Zeolite Association, providing free resources for international colleagues.
